Join us for a free evening of captivating storytelling through film, brought to you by the talented members of the Artedly community. On Sunday, October 13th, we will present a diverse selection of short films, each with its own unique voice and style. What makes these screenings so special is that every film showcased has been directed, produced, or stars regular members of the Artedly community, many of whom will be in attendance.
The films span various genres and themes, from heartwarming tales of family to gripping war stories, all woven with creativity and passion. These films are a testament to the collaborative spirit of Artedly and the richness of stories emerging from our community.

Come Home
Jack Miller & Adam Sander
In order to return home to his sweetheart, a lovesick soldier is tasked with a dangerous mission to signal the location of a German radio tower for incoming Allied bombers. Whilst he battles across war-torn France, a relentless German commandant picks up his trail and engages in a deadly pursuit that could change the course of the war.

Mai

A coming of age set in Tokyo where a 9 year old girl draws from the magic and lessons of the blooming cherry blossoms to escape her parents' fighting.
After the showing, producer Joanne Williamson will be in attendance to answer questions and talk about the process of making Mai.

Flowers of Noto
Double Tommy
On October 2023, Italian photographer Tommaso Negri visited the Noto Peninsula and was deeply moved by its beauty. However, about two months later, a magnitude 7 earthquake struck the region. Heartbroken by the significant damage, Tommaso revisited the area with his friend, filmmaker Tommaso Barbetta. The two met Adriana, an Italian cooking instructor who was planning volunteer activities in Noto, and decided to join her efforts. Through interactions with the people they met during their volunteer work, Tommaso and his companions began to re-evaluate their values.
The documentary was created to showcase the current state of Noto, three months after the earthquake, from the perspective of volunteers on the ground, with the aim of supporting the recovery efforts.
