Artober was proud to dedicate a full day to celebrating the rich cultural and artistic heritage of El Salvador. Through immersive and interactive experiences, visitors had the opportunity to explore the vibrant art, cuisine, and traditions that define this beautiful Central American country.
Event Gallery
Visitors explored the vibrant culture of El Salvador through a day dedicated to its art, coffee, and traditions. Presented in collaboration with the Embassy of El Salvador, the event featured a Salvadoran art showcase, including a special photography exhibition, alongside a coffee tasting session that brought a slice of Salvadoran life to the heart of Tokyo.
Salvadoran Art & Photography Exhibition
Visitors explored a stunning collection of photographs and artwork highlighting the evolution of El Salvador, with a particular focus on the revitalised Historic Centre of San Salvador. The exhibition also captured the essence of Salvadoran culture through depictions of the country's surf and coffee scenes, featuring works by acclaimed photographer David Alfaro.
Pop-up by Café Dina
Visitors experienced the flavours of El Salvador through a pop-up by Café Dina, the Salvadoran food business run by Chef Dina Cardoza in Yamanashi Prefecture. Chef Dina served a range of traditional Salvadoran dishes, including the iconic pupusas, offering guests an authentic taste of Salvadoran cuisine.
Salvadoran Coffee Pop-up by COYOTE
Visitors discovered the world of Salvadoran coffee through COYOTE, a Japanese company specialising in the import and distribution of Salvadoran coffee. In collaboration with barista Yusuke Kadokawa, COYOTE hosted a tasting session that gave guests the opportunity to sample a variety of Café de El Salvador brews.
Spotlight on Salvadoran Brands
In addition to art and cuisine, the event showcased Salvadoran brands such as Lula Mena, a designer celebrated for her work in textiles and accessories. Visitors were able to discover Salvadoran creativity across a range of industries and artistic disciplines.
Surf & Coffee Culture
Visitors explored the connection between Salvadoran coffee and surf culture through content from Surf City El Salvador and Café de El Salvador. The showcase highlighted two of the country's most celebrated cultural exports and the communities built around them.
