Visitors experienced the captivating music of Nozomi Nobody, a singer-songwriter known for her unique blend of alternative sounds and deeply emotional performances. With two albums and four singles to her name, her latest EP, Dawn (Side-A), released in December 2023, had already received critical acclaim.

Nozomi’s live performances are distinguished by their immersive, layered soundscapes that draw audiences into her music. In addition to her original work, she is also recognised for her contributions to commercials and for composing music for video productions.

An Introduction to Traditional Japanese Music

Alongside Nozomi's performance at 8pm, Artober also welcomed an earlier live performance at 5pm by Grand Master Nakagawa Garei, Griffin Gaho, and members of the Nakagawa Garei Koto and Shamisen School.

Nakagawa Garei is a distinguished master of the Ikuta-ryū style. She began her koto journey at the age of four and has since performed at prestigious venues around the world, including the Vienna Konzerthaus, as well as concerts in Australia, Germany, and Austria. A dedicated promoter of traditional Japanese music, she continues to focus on teaching and sharing the art form with audiences worldwide. Artober was honoured to welcome her to the festival.
